Service Description
Please read this in its entirety! The EMR Course at Kiser CPR is a 6-day, 56 hour course that prepares individuals to respond to Medical and Traumatic Emergencies. Upon completion, student can seek California State EMR certification through ssvems.com Topics: I. Introduction to Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and EMR Role: A. Overview of the EMS system and its components. B. Roles and responsibilities of an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR). C. Legal and ethical considerations in emergency care. D. Personal safety and protection from infection and disease. E. Effective communication and leadership skills. II. Patient Assessment: A. Scene size-up and initial assessment. B. Primary assessment (identifying immediate life threats). C. Secondary assessment (gathering more detailed information). D. Ongoing assessment and monitoring of the patient. III. Medical Emergencies: A. Respiratory emergencies. B. Cardiac emergencies. C. Neurological emergencies (seizures, stroke, etc.). D. Allergic reactions and anaphylaxis. E. Environmental emergencies (heatstroke, hypothermia, etc.). F. Diabetic emergencies. G. Poisoning and overdose. H. Behavioral and psychological crises. IV. Trauma Emergencies: A. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy: Students may cancel a booking 72 hours (or more) prior to the course date and time and receive a full refund. If student cancels registration less than 72 hours but before 24 hours in advance of the course date and time, a partial refund may be rewarded (up to 50% of booking fees). If student attempts to cancel class within 24 hours of course date and time, no refund will be issued, but student will have the option to reschedule course one time per the reschedule policy. Rescheduling Policy: If you need to reschedule a course, you may do so at no cost if reschedule is requested 48 hours or more prior to the course. You may only reschedule one time, and rescheduled appointments are not eligible for cancellation or refunds. If reschedule is requested within 48 hours of the course, a $25 reschedule fee will be applied prior to attendance in the course. If student "no-call, no-show's" to a course and requests to reschedule after their missed course, the student will be required to pay the full catalog price of their desired course prior to registration.
